My final open letter to our community as OPHS Executive Director

It gives me great pleasure to introduce our new Executive Director, Spenser McGinty, to all of you. I will continue to serve as President of the Board of Directors and look forward to working with Spenser and the staff.

Spenser comes to us from the Utah Humane Society and brings her passion for animal welfare and a decade of experience at a high-volume shelter.

She will continue on the path of improvement and growth that I have tried to establish in the past ten months and will renew OPHS' commitment to provide the community with not only a place for homeless pets to find refuge, but to give community members

opportunities to become educated on animal sheltering, husbandry, and behavior.

Spenser and I have high hopes for the future of OPHS, and I urge you to join us in these efforts...adopt, volunteer, and donate!

One final personal note: Thank you for your support and good wishes over the past 10 months...you gave me strength when I needed it throughout these challenging times. It was an honor to serve as Executive Director of OPHS.

Paul

P.S. Be sure to join us for our Benefit Concert to support the dogs and cats in our care. The concert features national touring band The Steel Wheels and will be held at Field Arts and Events Hall in Port Angeles on October 24, 2025. Tickets are available at: https://fieldhall.ludus.com/index.php?show_id=200488349
